Peter Silvester

Board of Directors

Peter Silvester has over 25 years of experience in the life sciences tools industry and most recently served as a Senior Vice President and President of Life Sciences Solutions and Laboratory Products at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Mr. Silvester provided executive oversight of its biosciences, laboratory products and chemicals businesses as well functional organizations including global operations, commercial process and operations, quality, finance, legal, IT, HR, communications, research and development, and strategy and business development. Prior to this, Mr. Silvester served as President of Biosciences, and led the integration of biosciences businesses during the 2014 acquisition of Life Technologies, where he held various executive positions.

At Life Technologies, Mr. Silvester held various leadership roles across different geographies and operating roles, including President of Life Technologies’ Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. In this role, Peter led the region through the integration of Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems and focused on developing emerging markets in Russia, South Africa and the Middle East.

In addition to serving on the BioSkryb Genomics Board of Directors, Mr. Silvester previously served as board member for PhenomeX and Coriell Life Sciences and served as an executive board member for Biocom.

Mr. Silvester was awarded a First Class Honors Degree from the University of Hertfordshire in Applied Biology and has spent most of his career in the commercial sector. He began his career in biotech leading the commercial organization and global distribution network for a DNA synthesis and therapeutics company.
